This policy explains how we manage personal information collected through taktet.com, direct enquiries and our business activities. We aim to handle personal information transparently and in accordance with the privacy laws that apply to us, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where applicable.
2. Personal information we may collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us and may include:
- your name, work email address and telephone number;
- your organisation, role and business contact details;
- information about your enquiry, property, project, meters or operational requirements;
- correspondence, meeting notes, proposals and other records of our dealings with you;

We do not ask you to provide sensitive personal information through this website. Please avoid including sensitive or unnecessary personal information in an enquiry.
3. How we collect information
We usually collect personal information directly from you when you email or telephone us, use the contact page, meet with us, request a proposal or engage our services. We may also receive business contact information from your organisation, an authorised representative, a referral or a publicly available professional source where it is lawful and reasonable to do so.
When you use the contact form, your submission is processed through our website hosting and sent to our business mailbox. Cloudflare Turnstile also processes technical information about the submission to distinguish people from automated abuse.
4. Why we use personal information
We may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
- understand requirements, prepare proposals and provide contracted services;
- prepare quotes, issue invoices and maintain accounting and expense records;

5. Cookies and analytics
At the date of this policy, this website does not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies and does not use behavioural advertising. Our web host may maintain standard security and access logs needed to operate the site. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which may use limited browser and device signals necessary to detect automated abuse. If we add analytics or other tracking technology later, we will update this policy and provide any notice or choice required by law.
6. When we disclose information
We currently use Spaceship and its Spacemail service for website hosting and business email, Cloudflare Turnstile for contact-form spam protection, and Zoho Books for quotes, invoices, expenses and accounting records. These providers process relevant personal information to supply those services to us.
We may also disclose personal information, where reasonably necessary, to personnel and contractors working with Taktet; information technology and data-storage providers; professional advisers such as accountants, insurers and lawyers; or regulators and authorities where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
7. Overseas processing
Spaceship, Spacemail, Cloudflare and Zoho operate internationally and may route, process, store or allow support access to information in Australia or overseas. The primary location of Zoho Books data depends on the data centre assigned to our account, and providers may use other group companies or subprocessors.
Provider locations can change. Where disclosure to an overseas recipient is likely, we will take reasonable steps required by applicable law and identify relevant countries in this policy where it is practicable to do so.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps appropriate to the nature of the information to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
We retain personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, our legitimate business records, or a legal or professional requirement. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.
9. Access and correction
You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request that inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading information be corrected. Contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding and will explain any lawful reason why a request cannot be fulfilled.
10. Privacy enquiries and complaints
If you have a privacy question or complaint, email our Privacy Officer with the subject “Privacy” and describe the issue. We will acknowledge the matter and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies to the matter, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
